Personality: Rafe is smart and quite helpful, and usually cool as a cucumber. He can think his way out of nearly any sticky situation, and doesn't hesitate to offer his aid and intellect to other pack members. On the flip side, once Rafe's mind is made, it takes some convincing to change it. He considers every member of the pack his family, and extends this kindness unto new dogs who join the pack. The only time that Rafe can be found entering a conflict is to act as a mediator to stop it. He believes strongly in taking the higher ground and/or turning the other cheek. Unless, of course, someone insults his height. He's quite touchy about that subject and he'll let you know when enough is enough.

History: Rafe has been a pack member since his birth. But he wasn't always part of the River's Edge pack. His first days were spent with the Hooded Forest pack, his parents both being dark-pelted and adventure seekers. Rafe, however, didn't live up to those standards. Neither did his sister Isla. They were light-pelted, and thus unlike the rest. Rowdy and Petal were embarrassed by the pups and did little to include them in many of the pack's activities because they would stand out as they grew. When the puppies were old enough to leave their mother's den, the family said a not-so-heartbreaking farewell for Rafe and Isla. Balfour offered to join them, but a very moody, ashamed Isla snapped at him to stay and nobody else protested otherwise. And so the two siblings set off on their own and fell in with the River's Edge pack. Rafe instantly clicked with the other young dogs in the pack, but Isla remained very much closed off from the rest. When the two siblings turned a year old, she hinted to Rafe that she was considering leaving the pack. Whether to join another or stick it out as a loner, Rafe wasn't sure. But he knew there wouldn't be much use in changing his sister's mind. She was more recalcitrant than he. A few months later, she made her departure late in the evening after a successful night's hunt. It was a diplomatic parting and many pack members were informed of her decision. Rafe kept silent the entire night, and withdrew from pack activities for quite a few days as he adjusted to life without any family members. He spent a few nights wondering if she might return, and stayed up with the sentinels on duty in case. Eventually, he was offered an official sentinel rank and accepted, but has now let go of any anticipation for his sister's return. He hasn't heard of or seen any of his family members for over eight months.

Hunting/Fighting Style: Rafe is a lover, not a fighter. He joins the pack on hunts and prefers to fish or chase animals that live under the earth. If he must fight, he fights defensively and uses his small size to tire out his opponent before he makes his move.
